Hampi - Capital of Vijayanagar Empire


Hampi, the capital of the famous Vijaynagara Empire, is a notable tourist place in Karnataka. The ruins of ancient palaces and monuments in Hampi reflect a rich cultural heritage and a royal past. Hampi and the temple of Malyavanta Raghunathaswamy mirrors Dravidian art and architecture. The interiors walls are richly decorated with carved sculptures of aquatic creatures and exquisite artworks. HOW TO REACH :
Hampi is well-connected by air, rail and road. The nearest landing is located at Tornagallu in Sandur Taluk. Charter flights are also available. Other nearby airports are at Bellary, Belgaum and Bangalore. Hospet is the nearest railway station and is connected to Bangalore, Bijapur, Guntakal and Hubli.
